BREWER
We’re looking to add a friendly, passionate, hard-working, and weird individual to our small crew of talented humans making sure all that fine liquid is brewed and processed to our strict quality standards. This job is FULL-TIME and industry experience is an absolute must. If you’re interested in joining our family, read below for the details!
The responsibility of the brewer at Dancing Gnome is to produce wort and perform all necessary cellar tasks up until packaging. This includes but is not limited to:
- Wort Production on 20bbl and 10bbl brewhouses
- Understand the principles of milling grain, mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpool, and wort chilling.
- Read and log analytical samples.
- Yeast management
- Propagate yeast for continued use throughout the week.
- Properly analyze samples and calculate proper pitch rates
- Cellering
- Understand principles of pressure and flow to properly move product between vessels
- Perform necessary CIP regimens on all tanks
- Perform daily analytical readings and conditioning tasks on all cellar tanks
- Other tasks as required.
Before you decide to throw your hat in the ring, here are a few things you need to know. We’re looking for someone who:
- Has 3+ years of experience in a production brewery environment.
- Has exceptional communication skills.
- Has incomparable attention to detail.
- Has weekend availability.
- Is able to stand for long periods of time without breaks.
- Is able to climb ladders up to 20’.
- Is able to lift 55# and move up to 175# without assistance.
- Has, or is willing to be trained for, forklift certification..
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
- Works well in a fast-paced, team oriented environment.
- Is able to maintain a friendly demeanor, especially under stress.
- Is able to take feedback and direction.
- Values safety and open communication.
- Absolutely loves beer.
- Respects all human beings. No exceptions.
